Hey Warren,

9.2km/h is FAST for a 12′6″ board! The hull speed for a board with a waterline of 12′6″ is 8.8km/h. Any time you’re going faster than hull speed is very fast.

How stable was the board? Is it a pure flat water race board or would it work for lake downwinders in 15-25 mph winds? Would the SurfRace be better for downwinders?

Also, what weight ranges would you suggest for someone on the 23.5″ NEW vs the 25″ NEW.

Can you provide some specs (weight and volume)and prices on these boards:

NEW carbon
NEW epoxy

Surf Race carbon
Surf Race epoxy

Hi Mike
The SUP camping trip I took with my son was awesome.
We only went for one night – but did bring a change of clothes / a tent / sleeping bags / a huge blow up air mat / 2 lawn chairs / a soft cooler.
We just lashed the dry bags to our boards with webbing straps.

We are planning a SUP camping trip through the store down the North Sask. river this summer.

Paddling up the river is a great work out. The water flow doesn’t really change all the much in terms of speed.
All you need to do is go a few times to figure out where the faster sections are – and avoid them.
I would be happy to get you on the river as soon as the ice is gone.
I went April 20 last year.
